Job summary

Bilfinger UK is seeking an experienced NDT Technician to join the expanding inspection team at Hinkley Point C. You will perform NDT on pipework, tanks and structures and complete inspection reports accurately and on time.

Essential: PCN Level 2 or ISO 9712 Radiography, MPI and DPI; prefer ARS/UT/VT; experience with new build and construction weld testing. On-site, 2 on 2 off rotation; strong teamwork and communication required.

Qualifications

• Essential: PCN Level 2 or ISO 9712 Radiography, MPI and DPI.
• Preference for additional NDT qualifications (PCN ARS, UT, VT).
• Experience with new build and construction site weld testing.
• Desirable: knowledge of IRR 2017.
• Can-do attitude, problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail; strong communication and teamwork; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct NDT (volumetric and surface) on pipework, tanks/vessels and structures.
• Complete inspection reports accurately and promptly.
• Interpret and document test findings per procedures and industry standards.
• Review colleagues' reports and interpretation of results.
• Complete and record daily equipment checks.
• Adhere to HSEQ policies and perform risk assessments.
• Mentor apprentices and contribute to training.
• Write detailed inspection technique sheets.

Main Purpose

This role presents a long-term, engaging, and rewarding opportunity as a key member of Bilfinger UK’s expanding inspection team at Hinkley Point C. In the role of an NDT Technician, you will play a crucial role in the execution of a quality NDT service throughout the site.

Main Responsibilities

• Conducting NDT (volumetric and surface methods) on pipework, tanks/vessels and structures. Complete inspection reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Accurately interpreting and documenting test findings in alignment with procedures and industry acceptance standards
• Reviewing colleagues' reports and interpretation of results
• Complete and record daily equipment checks
• Strict adherence to both our internal and site-specific health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) policies
• Conducting point of work risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment
• Providing mentorship and training to apprentices
• Write detailed and concise inspection technique sheet

Experience and Qualifications

• Essential: PCN Level 2 or equivalent ISO 9712 certification in Radiography, MPI and DPI
• Preference for candidates with additional NDT qualifications (PCN ARS, UT, VT)
• Experience with new build, construction site weld testing
• Desirable: knowledge of IRR 2017
• Can-do, problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and a willing ability to work in a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
