NDT Operative - Ultrasonic & Die Penetrant Level 2
A leading precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a skilled NDT Level 2 Operative to carry out Ultrasonic and Dye Penetrant testing on machined products to ensure the highest quality standards are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain ultrasonic testing equipment and die penetrant inspection systems in accordance with company and aerospace standards.
- Perform immersion ultrasonic testing and surface dye penetrant testing on machined components.
- Interpret inspection results accurately, identifying discontinuities and reporting any non-conformances.
- Complete inspection records, production documentation, and data entry in internal systems.
- Communicate inspection results clearly to production and quality teams.
- Assist in investigations and corrective actions related to non-conforming material.
- Support general manufacturing and material-handling operations when required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths, Grade A-C or equivalent).
- NDT Level 2 certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) to BS EN 4179 / NAS 410 standards.
- Experience in ultrasonic immersion testing and surface inspection techniques.
- Previous experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment (aerospace experience preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong safety-first approach.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Valid forklift truck licence required.
- Pendant crane qualification advantageous.
- Experience using manual lathes or saws preferred.
