Job Summary

This is a very exciting opportunity for you to come and work in Camden MOSAIC, an innovative multidisciplinary service for children and young people aged 0‑18 with a disability. You will be a qualified clinician such as a Speech and Language Therapist or Occupational Therapist with experience of working in neurodevelopmental disorders pathways. You will work in the Camden MOSAIC service coordinating and carrying out the assessments of children and young people with suspected neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and ADHD, and other related aspects of the MOSAIC service as required. This role supports the delivery of diagnostic assessments, leading to significantly reduced wait times and a better experience for children, young people and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical support as part of the multidisciplinary Camden MOSAIC Services, primarily within the Camden Child Development Team (CDT) and/or Social Communication Assessment Service (SCAS).
  • Deliver a highly specialist service to children and young people suspected of neurodevelopmental disorders, focusing on diagnostic assessment.
  • Support the development of training packages for school staff, parents, and other professionals to identify concerns and implement effective therapy advice.
  • Prioritise the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people at all times.
  • Contribute to the achievement of Key Performance Indicators, maintaining Target Activity Levels and demonstrating impact on quality and outcomes.
  • Assist with quality governance, audits and projects for the team or service.
  • Provide line management and supervision to identified team members as required.
  • Support the Clinical Coordinator of Speech and Language Therapy in service development.
Education and Qualifications
  • Recognised professional degree qualification such as Speech and Language Therapy or Occupational Therapy (minimum 2:2 or equivalent).
  • Registration with an appropriate regulatory body such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Honors degree or equivalent (desirable).
  • Additional training relevant to the post (desirable).
  • Attendance at relevant special interest group or clinical excellence group (desirable).
  • Professional membership in bodies such as the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists or the British Psychological Society (desirable).
Previous Experience
  • Working experience with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or ADHD.
  • Experience as part of multidisciplinary teams for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Experience with children and young people with physical, learning and multi‑sensory needs.
  • Delivering a range of training.
  • Leading projects to improve or develop services.
  • Supervising students and junior staff.
  • Leading appraisals and supervision for less experienced/junior staff (desirable).
  • Experience with children with acquired brain injury (desirable).
Skills and Knowledge
  • Specialist knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the profession and experience of using them.
  • Knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to the specialist area.
  • Knowledge of a range of appropriate therapy approaches and experience of applying them.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical governance principles including patient safety, quality, audit and patient experience.
  • Experience engaging in clinical audit.
  • Good knowledge of the roles of other professionals across agencies.
  • Knowledge of standards of record keeping.
  • Experience with SystmOne electronic record (desirable).
  • Experience leading clinical audits (desirable).
  • Training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) (desirable).

Employment Details

Band: 6 — Salary: £46,419 to £55,046 per annum (pro rata if part‑time). Permanent contract, full‑time working pattern.
