Job summary

Babcock International invites applications for the Naval Architecture Undergraduate Placement Year at the Bristol Technology Centre. The 12-month placement provides rotations through stability, hydrodynamics and survivability projects, with mentoring from experienced engineers and the Emerging Talent team.

You will work on real-world naval platform challenges, gain practical lifecycle experience, and potentially progress to the graduate programme if you perform well.

Qualifications

• Must be in final year of a STEM-based degree (Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Maritime/Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Structural Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics).
• Degree accreditation by RINA/IMarEST preferred.
• Security clearance requirements may apply (BPSS and Security Check).

Responsibilities

• Rotate through placements tailored to your career goals with mentors.
• Analyse submarine stability and support live experiments.
• Assist in design of in-service modifications and lifecycle support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve real-world problems.
