Job summary

Portakabin Ltd. is seeking a Contract Manager to join our GB Healthcare team, working on nationwide projects with regular travel and overnight stays. The role offers a permanent contract, a company car, and eligibility for a private medical scheme.

The successful candidate will own the delivery of large or complex contracts, lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets and risks, and build strong customer relationships. Interviews are planned in the near term.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering large and complex construction or modular projects.
• Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies and processes.
• Strong knowledge of financial control in project delivery, cost management and final accounts.
• Experience leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and contractors.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues during project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership for successful project management and delivery of allocated large or complex contracts, ensuring on-time, on-spec and on-budget delivery.
• Act as subject matter expert in project delivery and share knowledge across the function.
• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve contract delivery objectives.
• Maintain or improve project margins and cash flow through planning, budgeting, risk control and commercial decisions.
• Produce regular reports and updates for stakeholders with analysis of progress against programme, costs and milestones.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and maintain a risk register.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage variations and disputes.
• Build strong customer relationships and act as main contact for allocated contracts.
• Support bid and pre-construction activity with operational input.
• Provide coaching, support and line management for contract team members.
