A leading market distributor is seeking a dynamic National Sales Manager to lead sales efforts and manage a team in Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of B2B field sales experience and proven leadership skills in driving growth and managing key accounts. The Role

This role is responsible for leading the sales function to achieve agreed sales and gross margin targets in line with company objectives, through effective planning, execution, and management of a supportive team of five direct reports.

  • Sales Leadership: Drive the national sales strategy to deliver sustained growth and increased market share across Ireland.
  • Team Development: Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of five Area Sales Managers, setting clear goals and supporting their professional growth.
  • Key Account Management: Take direct responsibility for five major company accounts, building trusted relationships, identifying opportunities, and maximising potential.
  • Financial Growth: Increase regional sales, contribution, and margin through strategic customer engagement, opportunity development, and effective team management.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the kitchen and bedroom sectors and adjacent markets, positioning the company as a partner of choice.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and evolving customer needs to inform strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, operations, and product development teams to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular forecasts, performance reports, and actionable insights to senior management to support data-driven decisions.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in field sales within a B2B environment.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a team of Area Sales Managers or Sales Executives in a B2B environment.
  • Strong ability to evaluate regional and individual performance.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing annual sales forecasts.
  • Proven Sales Success: Demonstrable track record of driving growth and managing key accounts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and develop a national sales team.
  • Operational Awareness: Familiarity with distribution/manufacturing environments, including deliveries, remedials, and replacements.
  • Relationship Management: Strong consultative selling and client relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into strategy.
  • Strategic Alignment: Experience aligning sales plans with broader business objectives.
  • Experience setting and managing KPIs.
  • Solid understanding of profit and loss calculations, gross margin percentages, overheads, and related business finance.
