Job summary

DB Cargo UK is seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Wellbeing Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract with national remit. You will lead the provision of proactive OH and wellbeing services across the UK, working with senior leaders and external providers to shape strategies and drive improvements.

You will support attendance management, case management and wellbeing initiatives while balancing commercial objectives with employee health and safety.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Health professional
• CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
• Significant leadership experience in Occupational Health or Wellbeing
• Strong stakeholder, supplier and contract management
• Experience in absence management and wellbeing programmes
• Commercially minded with ability to balance operational needs and wellbeing
• Excellent communication, influencing and analytical skills
• Rail/transport or safety-critical environment experience (advantageous)
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of occupational health services across DB Cargo UK.
• Manage occupational health suppliers and monitor service performance.
• Develop and implement OH and wellbeing strategies, policies and initiatives.
• Support managers with sickness absence, rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.
• Provide expert advice on occupational health referrals and case management.
• Use data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage OH&Wellbeing budgets to ensure quality and value.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across the business.
• Champion a positive wellbeing culture that supports engagement, safety and performance.
