Location: Field Based – with travel to customers, offices and other sites within the Carlsberg Britvic network

Job Length: Permanent – Full Time

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.

With a strong national footprint, the Carlsberg Britvic business includes 6 production facilities and 16 logistics depots servicing customers up and down the UK. As these two historical businesses have come together, the one common goal remains, and that is ensuring our people succeed.

About the role

As National Account Controller for Tesco, you will develop and deliver robust commercial terms with Tesco, aligning business strategies, designing investment structures that optimise P&L and accelerate growth for both Carlsberg Britvic and Tesco.

If you are interested in joining our journey, we are now recruiting for a National Account Controller – Tesco. Reporting to the Account Director – Tesco, this role will play a key part of our success journey and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following:

Role Responsibilities
  • Build account plans and customer growth strategies for the next 1-3 years that align Carlsberg Britvic and Tesco’s priorities, positioning our portfolio for volume and share growth across all Tesco channels and formats.
  • Support your direct reports (2), ensuring your team operate effectively by providing support, coaching and performance management where needed.
  • Work closely with our Brand Teams, Category Management & Shopper Marketing to identify opportunities for business growth, driving execution across all Tesco channels.
  • Build a robust and reliable Sales & Operational Plan (S&OP forecast) and own the ongoing performance through the account management team.
  • Use a range of consumer, shopper and category-based insights to develop compelling growth strategies, pushing our brands forward through the Tesco business – ensuring plans are aligned to Tesco strategic goals, customer-centric and format aligned to unlock new missions and consumption occasions.
  • Support the team with business building and tactics to win, maximising distribution and landing key innovation to deliver volume and profit objectives.
  • Work closely with the Account Director to develop and foster ways of working across the newly integrated drinks team.
Experience and Key Attributes
  • Previous experience in an FMCG Manufacturer or Retailer is desired.
  • Previous experience working with top grocery customers, top four is desired.
  • Experience leading a team, proven line manager capabilities.
  • Ability to build trust, network and influence Tesco from a leadership position.
  • Exceptional understanding and experience of managing financial risk and opportunity.
  • Confident in discussion and conversation that make things happen – assertive where necessary.
  • Results-oriented with a high level of accountability for plan, action, delivery and outcome – ensuring teams drive their part of the business needs.
  • Ability to set clear objectives, comfortable coaching and supporting team.
  • Understand all significant process’ that underpin from planning through to invoice receipt.
