About the Client

Snap Care had the pleasure of meeting Holly when recruiting for her wonderful Team Leader. Holly, 21, is now looking for an additional Support Worker to join her dedicated team. Holly lives independently (10 minutes’ drive from her parents) in her own flat with 24/7 2:1 support. Holly is an exceptional young woman, with a very busy social life. She loves and thrives on interaction with her support staff; engaging with her in an outgoing, fun but gentle manner brings out the very best in Holly. She has dystonic cerebral palsy, is a full-time wheelchair user, and communicates via eye gaze. Although she receives her food and medication via a PEG, Holly loves eating for fun, so trying new foods in different restaurants is a big part of her social calendar!

The Role at a Glance

Holly requires full practical support with all aspects of her ADLs, including personal care and manual handling. Holly’s week is planned and very much led by her, and she is busy. 3 days (Tuesday to Thursday) each week Holly attends Chicken Shed; Monday she has Physiotherapy, followed by online tutoring (Math and English); Friday, SaLT online, and again tutoring. Evenings are typically more relaxed, but if there is an upcoming show or performance Holly will likely be at Chicken Shed rehearsing. Saturdays are typically spent out and about, visiting the zoo, going to food festivals, gigs, etc. Sundays are family time; Holly spends the day with her parents and returns home in the evening. Holly travels abroad up to 7 days at a time with the support team.
