I am a young man who lives in the Cowbridge area. I have Aspergers which can affect my communication and socialization skills. I also have OCD which causes me difficulties with my timekeeping. I rely on others in particular my family to help and support me enjoy various activities. I am very active and I love being outdoors but I really enjoy music. I like going for walks, enjoying seeing new places and trying new things. I love music and playing the guitar is a hobby. I also enjoy outings like bowling, and going to the cinema.

Out & about plus in the home.

Purpose of the Job

I’m going to employ a personal assistant to support me when I go out. This will enable me to experience different places and have some company. The purpose of the job is to help me to maintain my independence and keep me safe and active.

Hours of Work

9 hours per week, could include afternoons/evenings and weekends. Times and hours are negotiable.

Rate of Pay

£12.70 per hour plus mileage covered at 0.40p per mile

Tasks

• Support with socialising out in the community
• Assisting me to be active
• Taking me out in the car to places that I enjoy
• Taking me to appointments
• Ensuring that the places we visit are suitable and do not make me feel uncomfortable
• Staying close by and supporting me

About the Job

I will be your legal employer so you will need a National Insurance number. Pay will be four weekly by cheque and appropriate paid annual leave is given. There will be trial period involved and a police check will be necessary (which I will arrange).
