Musician Level 3 Apprenticeship

Salary: Over £30,100

Overview:

Musicians in the Royal Corps of Army Music combine professional musicianship with life as a soldier. You’ll perform at ceremonial events, public concerts and parades, as well as support military occasions in the UK and overseas, representing The Army on both national and international stages.

Alongside your musical training, you’ll develop soldiering skills and work as part of a close‑knit team where discipline, teamwork and pride in what you do really matter. It’s a unique role that suits people who are passionate about music, enjoy performing, and want a varied career that offers challenge, travel and real purpose.

Bursary:

If you commit to four years with British Army Music, you may be eligible for a bursary of up to £9,250 per year, for up to three years, to help towards your tuition fees while you study.

The bursary is available if you’re studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree in music performance at a UK university or conservatoire. Alongside your studies, you’ll be encouraged to take part in regular Army band events throughout the year, giving you real performance experience and a strong connection to Army music from the start.
