Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Music Curriculum Technician to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and experienced professional to make a meaningful impact and work as part of a team or under their own initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, deliver, and retrieve musical instruments, technology, and other equipment for lessons, ensuring timely readiness and correct storage afterward.
  • Operate specialist equipment and computer packages (including audio/visual), such as configuring technology for music classes.
  • Make audio recordings of student work and concerts, including setting up microphones and using recording software, followed by indexing and cataloguing.
  • Assist teachers by taking part in demonstrations, supporting individual or small groups of pupils during practical activities, particularly in music technology software.
  • Run sound for rehearsals and performances (e.g., Musical Productions), and develop a group of student technicians to manage the sound desk for events.
  • Perform routine maintenance, safety checks, basic repairs, and cleaning of equipment and storage areas, as well as assisting with displays and invigilating exams.
Key Requirements
  • Promote and ensure the health and safety of students and colleagues by adhering to all relevant regulations and risk assessments for the use of specialist equipment.
  • Operate recording systems for cataloguing, filing, inventories, and legal records, including those related to health and safety and equipment testing.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all resources and equipment, monitor stock levels, and process incoming deliveries and associated invoices.
  • Undertake various related administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and providing required management information.
