Location: Rickmansworth

Salary: £34,398 - £46,839 (MPS – UPS, depending on experience)

Contract: Full‑time, Temp‑Perm

Start date: January 2026

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and inspiring music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Lead extracurricular ensembles including choirs, bands and other groups
  • Support students in experimenting with various instruments, music technology and genres
  • Prepare students for assessments, performances and formal exams
  • Monitor and nurture student progress, adapting to different learning needs
  • Collaborate with staff to weave music into wider school activities and events
  • Maintain clear and positive communication with parents and carers about student progress
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable, but not essential)
  • Experience teaching music in secondary education
  • Competence in at least one instrument or strong vocal ability
  • A genuine passion for music and motivating young people
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
