Job summary

Sing Education is seeking passionate musicians to become role models and deliver our signature singing-led music lessons from Nursery to Year 6 in partner schools. You will use cover lesson plans and contribute to assemblies, choirs and clubs, with day-to-day engagement in training and induction to truly embody the Sing Education ethos.

Availability is for short-term and long-term cover during term time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with DBS disclosure as part of the safeguarding commitment.

Qualifications

• Degree in music or related field (music education, musical theatre) required or desirable.
• Ability to lead singing assemblies, choirs and clubs.
• Experience delivering whole-class curriculum music lessons.

Responsibilities

• Deliver singing-led, whole-class curriculum music lessons from Nursery to Year 6 using provided cover lesson plans.
• Conduct singing assemblies and lead choirs and clubs with ready-to-use plans.
• Engage in comprehensive training and induction to integrate into Sing Education ethos.
• Provide handover to admin team after cover day and maintain professional communication with partner schools.

Requirements

Availability: We're looking for musicians who can offertheir time and talent for short-term and long-term coverassignments, Monday-Friday, during term time, from 8.30 am to 4.30pm. Flexibility to accept assignments on short notice (informed by7.30 am or the afternoon before, wherever possible) and to pre-bookcover dates is essential.

Certification: All applicants must possess or be willing toundergo an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, facilitated by Sing Education,to ensure our commitment to child safety and trust.

The Teaching: You'll deliver our signature singing-led,whole-class curriculum music lessons from Nursery to Year 6,utilising cover lesson plans provided by Sing Education. Your rolealso includes conducting singing assemblies and leading choirs andclubs, with plans provided for seamless execution.

Communication & Collaboration: A successful cover dayconcludes with a brief handover to the Sing Education admin team.Professional and clear communication is vital, as you'll berepresenting Sing Education within our partner schools. Moreover,your journey begins with engaging in our comprehensive team trainingand induction sessions, including online and in-person training, tofully integrate into the Sing Education ethos.

Club Day: £160 per day for any assignment that includes abefore or after-school club (starting at 7:30am OR finishing at 4:30pm)

Winter Bonus Scheme: To acknowledge the challenges oflast-minute assignments during the colder months, a £25 bonus isadded to your daily rate for same-day shifts accepted duringNovember to February.
