Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Multiskilled Instrumentation Maintenance Technician with an electrical bias to provide maintenance for high-speed production equipment in North West England. The ideal candidate should have relevant qualifications in engineering and experience with food or pharmaceutical machinery. This is a permanent position with various responsibilities in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining and repairing high-speed food or pharmaceutical processing and packaging machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Fault-find and repair production and packaging equipment.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement engineering solutions.
  • Select and manage spare parts.
  • Support site equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Undertake electrical and mechanical installation work.
  • Provide engineering expertise for ongoing projects.
  • Keep accurate logbooks and maintenance records.
  • Report regularly to the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager.

Overview

Job Title: Multiskilled Instrumentation Maintenance Technician - Electrically biased. (Shifts).

Location: North West England

Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Fault-find and repair production and packaging equipment, including:
    • Pneumatics
    • Electrical systems
    • Mechanical systems
    • PLCs and inverter-driven equipment
  • Identify improvement opportunities and help implement engineering solutions.
  • Select and manage spare parts.
  • Support site equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Undertake electrical and mechanical installation work.
  • Provide engineering expertise for ongoing projects.
  • Keep accurate logbooks, worksheets and maintenance records.
  • Report regularly to the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechatronics, Maintenance Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, along with Level 3 Multiskilled qualifications in industrial electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • You will also bring experience in maintaining and repairing high-speed food or pharmaceutical processing and packaging machinery.
