Job description

Double Days: 4on 4 off – 07:00 – 19:00
Salary: £49,000
Location: Outskirts of Edinburgh Airport

Job Purpose

The role of the Engineer is to carry out all aspects of plant maintenance and repair to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the production and intake systems, to minimise downtime and deliver business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow and apply all Health and Safety policies.
  • Carry out planned maintenance.
  • Meet all Food Safety standards and minimising.
  • Work with the production team to resolve breakdowns or production interruptions.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records to support legal compliance and a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate with mill management to allocate resources based on business and customer needs.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Maintain proper stock of materials and equipment, working with suppliers to meet department needs.
  • Meet budget and time targets, reporting any issues.
  • Work with the Hygiene team to keep the environment clean and safe.
  • Promote continuous improvement.
  • Manage all site waste in line with environmental standards.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks related to mill operations as directed by management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualification/Apprenticeship in a relevant field essential.
  • Strong experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 17th Edition certified desirable.
  • Strong experience as an engineer within a team-based manufacturing/production environment.
  • Experience within a food/drink manufacturing environment beneficial.
  • Good experience and understanding of both Health & Safety and Environmental regulations and their impacts.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems.
  • Computer literate and experience of working with Microsoft programmes.
