Job description

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi Skilled Engineer to join our maintenance team in Borehamwood.

Responsibilities
  • Identifying and managing risks associated with equipment on site, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, and improving maintenance programs
  • Providing electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance department
  • Writing and following risk assessments and ensuring safe and accurate completion of tasks
  • Working on three-phase systems with voltages up to 440V and completing tasks on motors, gearboxes, valves, and other equipment
  • Using mobile devices to accurately project and complete tasks from the CAFM maintenance system
  • Liaising with onsite site services to manage building services‑related issues
  • Deputizing for the Shift Leader during annual leave or sickness
  • Working overtime, including nights and weekends, as required
  • Performing ad‑hoc duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Recognised or time‑served apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Electrical competence/qualifications to a minimum of City and Guilds 236 Pt 1‑2 Electrical qualifications to 18th Edition
  • Mechanical competence/qualifications to an acceptable standard to City and Guild's Mechanical
  • Good multi‑skilled ability
  • Experience working on 3‑phase motors, drives, and inverters
  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic experience
  • NVQ qualifications to Level 2, Electrical and Mechanical
  • Ability to supervise contractors and write risk and method statements
  • Ability to understand and write permits
