Mainstream Primary School – Skelmersdale (WN8)
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Fixed Term (Full Academic Year)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:20pm (Term Time Only)
Pay: £13.75 per hour (paid weekly)

The Head Teacher of a welcoming mainstream primary school in Skelmersdale is seeking three committed 3 SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from January 2025. These roles are long term, term-time-only and offer the opportunity to provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs.

About the Roles:

We have three exciting SEN TA positions available:

  1. EYFS SEN TA – Supporting a child with medical needs in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  2. Year 5 SEN TA – Working 1:1 with a child who has an EHCP for global developmental delay.
  3. Year 6 SEN TA – Delivering intervention support for a child to help close gaps in learning.

As an SEN TA, you will work closely with class teachers and the school’s SEND team to provide personalised support, ensuring every child feels included and valued.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs.

Essential Requirements:
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – training available for those without this qualification.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a UK classroom setting is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
