Overview

As a multi-platform producer you will work across all our Cricket output and deliver a continuity of approach and editorial direction for our live audio coverage, highlights, podcasts, and creative digital content. The Producers will help create material that will showcase the stories and characters from within the world of cricket and analyse the key moments across the sport in an innovative way that will delight passionate cricket fans & new fans across the country.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Collaborate with the Executive Producer, multimedia cricket producers, and independent partners to plan year-round, multi-platform cricket coverage by leading on multi-platform content ideas, coordinating across BBC departments and external stakeholders (ECB, ICC, Cricket Australia).
  • Run creative sessions and manage commissioning, ensuring alignment with social, short‑form, and stories teams within production budgets and developing strategies for iPlayer, YouTube, and social platforms that will help grow audiences.
  • Deliver multi-platform coverage of international fixtures, liaising with editors and broadcasters, and occasionally acting as lead producer with potential to work on site alongside other editorial colleagues.
  • Work with production teams to manage broadcaster rotas and commitments, whilst championing diversity in content and talent development across production and broadcasting.
  • Plan and produce cricket podcasts in partnership with BBC Sounds and liaise with 5 Live Sport for cricket programming and wider opportunities.
  • Lead the multi-platform coverage of The Hundred, ensuring content meets BBC priorities and reaches wide audiences and manage County cricket coverage across BBC platforms, maximizing impact and cross-promotion.
  • Coordinate breaking news coverage with BBC Sport's Stories reporting teams.
  • Strong track record of being adaptable and flexible with the ability to switch between different platforms and take on other responsibilities if required.
  • Excellent editorial judgement and knowledge of the target audience, their needs, and expectations alongside an in-depth knowledge of Cricket.
  • Experience of influencing, negotiating, and communicating effectively both internally and with external agencies/partners.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience of developing and managing positive working relationships with staff, contributors and broadcasters and being able to give constructive feedback.
  • Experience of delivering multi‑platform content from on site or remotely, either in the UK or abroad across a range of events or sporting formats.
  • Desired but not required: Familiarity with emerging industry trends and digital innovation.
  • Experience driving efficiencies in production processes.
  • Understanding of BBC's diverse audiences and engagement strategies.

Salary

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £42,000 – £52,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
