Your World Recruitment Group is recruiting for a Multidisciplinary Biomedical Scientist to join a private hospital laboratory in Croxley, covering Haematology and Blood Transfusion.

The role demands a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with multidisciplinary experience and the ability to work across shifts, including nights and weekends. Immediate start and a long-term contract are on offer in a busy, patient-focused setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialist testing across Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
• Blood grouping, antibody screening, crossmatching and issuing components.
• Reviewing and authorising patient results; escalating abnormal findings.
• Analyzer operation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Participating in QA schemes and on-call duties.
• Maintaining QMS, health & safety and accreditation standards.

Multidisciplinary Biomedical Scientist: Haematology & Blood Transfusion

Location: Private Hospital, Croxley

Contract: Long-Term | Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week (including nights and weekends)

Pay Rate: £28 to £29 per hour

Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multidisciplinary Biomedical Scientist to join a busy private hospital laboratory in Croxley. This role covers Haematology and Blood Transfusion, offering variety and clinical responsibility within a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

This is a long-term contract position with an immediate start, ideal for a confident, hands-on BMS who thrives working across disciplines and is comfortable with a full shift pattern, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing and validating routine and specialist testing across Haematology and Blood Transfusion
• Blood grouping, antibody screening, crossmatching and issue of blood components
• Reviewing and authorising patient results, escalating abnormal or unexpected findings appropriately
• Analyser operation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Participating in internal and external quality assurance schemes
• Supporting blood component inventory management and stock monitoring
• Maintaining full compliance with laboratory QMS, health and safety, and accreditation standards
• Working flexibly as part of the on-call/shift rota, including night and weekend cover

Requirements

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist
• Proven multidisciplinary experience across Haematology and Blood Transfusion
• Essential: experience working within busy London laboratories
• Confident working independently during night and weekend shifts
• Strong attention to detail and sound clinical judgement under pressure
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clinical teams
