Multi‑Trained Operative (temporary till Nov 2026)

Location: Phillips 66 Humber Refinery, Eastfield Road, South Killingholme, DN40 3D

Hours: 38 hours per week

Schedule: Monday – Thursday 7:30am‑4:00pm, Friday 7:30am‑1:30pm

Contract: Fixed‑term until November 2026

Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour

About the Role

We're seeking a reliable and proactive Multi‑Trained Operative to join our Sodexo team at the Phillips 66 Humber Refinery. In this role, you'll support the safe and efficient running of the warehouse and tool store operations, ensuring materials and equipment are handled, stored, and distributed correctly. You'll play a key part in delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day‑to‑day operation of the warehouse, carrying out tasks such as inventory control, goods receipting, order picking, work‑pack preparation, and dispatch.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following company health, safety, and quality systems – reporting any incidents or improvement suggestions promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service at the warehouse issue counter, ensuring timely and professional responses to requests.
  • Carry out internal and external stock issues, ensuring all SAP transactions are accurately recorded using the SAP Staging Tool.
  • Receive, check, and locate deliveries – raising and resolving purchase order discrepancies as per P66 procedures.
  • Operate warehouse systems and equipment including Kardex, Counterbalance, Reach Truck, Aisle‑Master, and Rough Terrain Forklifts.
  • Ensure materials requiring quality inspection are processed in full compliance with P66 procedures.
  • Manage Work Pack requests, ensuring items are staged, accounted for, and delivered according to procedure.
  • Support the movement of chemicals, oils, and lubricants within designated storage areas safely and efficiently.
  • Arrange transportation for tools and materials leaving the site as required.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the warehouse – ensuring all materials are labelled, stored safely, and rotated correctly.
  • Manage goods receipt documentation, tool and materials certification, and associated record‑keeping.
  • Restock and maintain site vending machines as directed.
  • Issue and receive tools using Tool Hound software, ensuring permissions and records are up to date.
  • Liaise with third parties for the repair and overhaul of tools.
  • Support stocktaking and audit activities as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to changing needs and supporting colleagues as required.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of SAP (essential)
  • Experience in warehouse or tool store operations
  • Strong understanding of materials, components, and stock preservation
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Proven ability to take ownership, be accountable, and deliver to deadlines
  • Team player with a positive, customer‑focused attitude
Desirable
  • Forklift Truck or other MHE licences
  • Experience working in an industrial or refinery environment
