Bournemouth Council is recruiting an experienced Multi-Trade Plumber to install bathrooms and disability adaptations in domestic properties across the Bournemouth area.

The role requires a skilled tradesperson with a strong plumbing background, capable of carrying out level access shower installations and related building works. A Level 2 Plumbing & Heating qualification or time-served experience is essential, with WRAS knowledge and a full driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Plumbing & Heating or time-served experience.
• Time-served experience accepted for plumbing & heating roles.
• Good understanding of WRAS Water Supply Regulations.

Responsabilités

• Install level access showers and perform floor preparation, excavation and screeding.
• Fit bathroom equipment including sanitaryware, showers, toilets and basins.
• Carry out domestic plumbing, pipework alterations and radiator moves.
• Tile walls and floors with standard-format tiles for a professional finish.
• Assist in basic carpentry and minor plastering related to bathroom installations.
• Install disability adaptation equipment and grab rails in occupied properties.
• Work to high quality, safety and customer service standards.
• Hold a full, valid driving licence and maintain company van use.

Multi-Trade Plumber - Disability Adaptations

Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary: £42,700 per annum (PAYE), depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm (39 hours per week)

We are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Plumber to join the local Council in Bournemouth, carrying out bathroom installations and disability adaptations within domestic properties.

This position requires a skilled tradesperson with a strong plumbing background and the ability to undertake a range of associated building works. Experience installing level access shower rooms and disability adaptations is particularly important.

Key Responsibilities

• Level Access Showers: Installing preformed shower trays, including Tuff Form systems, and carrying out floor excavation, screeding and preparation to create level access shower areas.
• Bathroom Installations: Fitting sanitaryware, showers, toilets, basins, shower screens and associated bathroom equipment.
• Plumbing & Heating: Domestic plumbing, pipework alterations, radiator moves and installation of waste pumps, including Whale systems.
• Tiling: Wall and floor tiling, primarily using standard-format tiles, ensuring a professional finish.
• Carpentry & Building Works: Bathroom boxing, basic carpentry, occasional studwork, door widening and minor plastering, including dot and dab and bonding.
• Disability Adaptations: Installing grab rails, specialist bathroom equipment and wash-dry toilets, including Closomat systems.
• Completing work to the required quality, safety and customer service standards.
• Proven experience in disability adaptations and bathroom installations.
• Experience installing level access shower rooms, including floor preparation, excavation and screeding.
• Level 2 qualification or above in Plumbing & Heating, or equivalent proven time-served experience.
• Good understanding of WRAS Water Supply Regulations.
• Competence in domestic plumbing, tiling, carpentry and general bathroom installation.
• Experience installing waste pumps and specialist sanitary equipment.
• Ability to work independently, organise workloads and deliver high-quality workmanship.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach when working in occupied properties.
• Full, valid driving licence (company van provided).
• Own tools suitable for plumbing and associated multi-trade work.

Time-served applicants will be required to provide relevant employment references.

Additional Requirements

You will receive work instructions and appointments through a company-provided iPad, which is also used for inspection records, certification, forms and email communication.

The position involves local travel only and is subject to a Basic DBS check.
