Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced construction professional to teach multi-skills programmes, delivering practical workshops and classroom sessions to help learners achieve qualifications and progress into employment.

You'll plan engaging lessons reflecting current industry practice, provide learner support, assess progress and embed English and maths across vocational learning.

Qualifications

• Industry experience in construction or multi-trade environments.
• Ability to motivate and engage learners from a range of backgrounds.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Desirable teaching qualifications at Level 4 or 5 or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across multi skills programmes.
• Planning and preparing engaging lessons and practical workshop sessions.
• Assessing learner progress, setting targets and providing constructive feedback.
• Providing academic and pastoral support to help learners achieve their goals.
• Maintaining accurate learner records and monitoring attendance and achievement.
• Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
• Embedding English and maths skills within vocational learning.

Are you an experienced construction professional looking to pass your trade skills on to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join a training provider in the West Midlands, delivering teaching, learning and assessment across multi skills programmes. Working in both practical workshop and classroom settings, you'll help learners build the hands-on trade skills they need to achieve their qualifications and progress into employment or further training.

You'll plan engaging sessions that reflect current industry practice, and support learners from a range of backgrounds to get the most out of their programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across multi skills programmes.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant construction trade
• Level 2 English and maths (or equivalent)
• Industry experience within construction or multi-trade environments
• Ability to motivate and engage learners from a range of backgrounds
• Strong organisational and communication skills

Desirable (but not essential):

• Teaching qualification at Level 4 or Level 5, or a willingness to work towards one
• Experience of teaching or supporting learners, apprentices or trainees
• Experience working with learners who have behavioural or additional support needs
