Location: Newcastle

Contract: Full‑Time, Monday‑Friday (40 hours/week)

Salary: £31,500 per year (depending on experience)

Role Overviewh3>

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Technician to join the team supporting operations at the AkzoNobel site in Stowmarket. The role is key to ensuring smooth site operations, carrying out planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and small projects across electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilitiesh3>
  • Perform routine inspections, fault diagnosis, and equipment repairs
  • Complete PPMs on time and to contract KPI/SLA standards
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, records, and permit‑to‑work documentation
  • Assist with installation, modification, and small project work
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, and quality standards
  • Support contractor management, including reviewing sub‑contractor quotes
  • Act as deputy in the absence of line management
Requirementsh3>
  • Electrical or Mechanical background
  • Good ICT skills (Word, Excel, standard Microsoft Office)
  • Strong planning, organisational, and multitasking abilities
  • Confident communicator, both oral and written
  • Physical capability for site duties (standing, walking, climbing ladders, lifting 20kg+)
  • Awareness of facilities management standards and compliance
