We are looking for an experienced Multi‑skilled Shift Engineer – Electrical Bias to work with one of Mitie’s flagship clients to provide a multi‑skilled maintenance service at a Peterborough based data centre. This covers electrical and mechanical disciplines while delivering a reactive and proactive maintenance service as required by the project for all operational equipment.

Shift Pattern

• Week 1: 4 nights on, 3 off
• Week 2: 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights on
• Week 3: 3 off, 4 days on
• Week 4: 1 off, 3 days on, 3 off
• Week 5: 7 off

Responsibilities

• Carry out modifications and installations as required, maintaining, repairing and calibrating electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimise reliability and maintainability.
• Provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators are met and liaise with contractors or external suppliers where required.
• Complete all required paperwork, produce reports accurately and on a timely basis.
• Carry out work to the highest standards, in line with company policies and procedures, and report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may compromise service delivery, health, safety or the environment.
• Ensure own work and that of those under supervision is completed safely and diligently.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering Maintenance (multi‑discipline) or equivalent up‑to‑date training.
• Good knowledge of building statutory compliance.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
