Job summary

Tarmac is seeking a Multi Skilled Road Surfacing Operative to join the Contracting team based at Dolyhir, near Presteigne, covering projects across Mid Wales. You will operate plant and equipment for road surfacing, lay asphalt and coated materials, and ensure work meets strict safety and quality standards.

We value a flexible, team-focused professional with experience on highways or airfield projects, CSCS card (preferred), a full UK driving licence, and a strong commitment to health, safety

Qualifications

• Experience in road surfacing industry.
• Experience on highways, motorways or airfields.
• Experience laying asphalt and coated materials.
• Plant operating tickets and qualifications.
• CSCS card preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Flexible hours and project requirements.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of plant and equipment for road surfacing.
• Work with hot coated materials safely and efficiently.
• Lay coated materials to specification and tolerances.
• Carry out routine plant maintenance and housekeeping.
• Promote Zero Harm culture and safety improvements.
• Ensure high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance on site.
• Work collaboratively within a high-performing surfacing team.
