Job summary

Yeo Valley Production Ltd is seeking a reliable Multi Skilled Logistics Operative for our Isleport distribution team in Somerset. The role involves hands-on operation of Reach Trucks, counterbalance forklifts and other MHE in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will support safety, quality and efficiency across production and logistics processes. Key responsibilities include maintaining food safety controls, adhering to GMP and hygiene standards, and driving improvements in equipment usage,

Qualifications

• Experience in a production/warehouse setting.
• Commitment to Health & Safety and GMP standards.
• Ability to lead changeovers and optimise material yields.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety best practices and role-model safe behaviours.
• Contribute to quality management, ensuring food safety controls are followed.
• Follow GMP and hygiene standards; maintain 5S/clean as you go.
• Operate and optimise equipment to meet production demand and quality targets.
• Analyse machine parameters to support decisions and improvements.
• Record downtime and material usage accurately.
• Perform basic fault finding and maintenance tasks.
• Support root-cause analysis with the wider team.
• Drive continuous improvement in area KPIs with the Lead Operator.

We are on the lookout for a reliable Multi Skilled Logistics Operative to join our busy distribution team at Isleport, Somerset. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving warehouse environment and has solid hands‑on experience operating Reach Trucks, Counterbalance Forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

Your Responsibilities

• Demonstrating a commitment to Health & Safety by working in a safe manner, role modelling our safety behaviours, challenging unsafe practices, rectifying unsafe conditions and escalating to other team members when support is needed.
• Active involvement, commitment and governance of the quality management system, making sure all relevant controls and procedures are completed effectively to validate food safety controls and the products we make exceed customer and consumer expectations. Escalate any food safety breach or quality issue and ensure that any product below our standards is identified and held and the issues are escalated appropriately, resolved and released.
• Understand, adhere to and lead good manufacturing practices and company standards of hygiene, PPE, and dress code. Role models a 'Clean as You Go' approach, maintaining workplace organisation and visual management standards with the team.
• Effective operation and optimisation of equipment and priorities to meet the production demand and delivery of the highest quality of products.
• Through the ownership of performance and yield in your area/asset you will optimise running conditions and actively participate in improvement activities that ensure effective use of resources.
• Ownership of the changeover activities and material replenishment in your area/asset, optimising resources and raw material yields.
• Analysis and interpretation of operational machine parameters to support your effective decision making and drive improvements.
• Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of downtime and raw material usage in an area.
• Undertaking basic fault finding and rectification on equipment and actively support the identification of root cause when escalating to the wider support team when required.
• Ensuring all equipment is properly cared for by the completion of effective cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
• Making decisions to support improvement to the area KPIs and makes recommendations for the continual improvement to equipment or processes with the Lead Operator or Line Manager.
• Energising the team and demonstrates a consistently enthusiastic approach, taking action quickly and encouraging others to do the same.
