Summary

T413 Multi Skilled Operative - Gas (Domestic Servicing and Repairs) Housing Repairs

Grade 8 - £33,170 - £34,806

37 hours per week

There is a tool allowance with this post up to £483.08 per year.

We are looking for a Gas Engineer to undertake domestic gas servicing and maintenance activities within our 4500 Council houses.

You will be able to diagnose faults to gas appliances and fix problems without delay on a daily basis and be competent in the use of data recording and analysis equipment. Most of our boiler stock is Worcester Bosch, so knowledge and skills of servicing and maintaining Worcester boilers will be an advantage.

You will be expected to use the latest technology for appointments and maintain the highest level of customer care to assist us to achieve our ambitious objectives.

Along with experience of working with the Gas Safety (installation and Use) Regulations 1998, knowledge of other building crafts and asbestos awareness, you will need to be City & Guilds NVQ Level 3, a craft apprentice or similar. The employment of a Multi-skilled workforce assists us to achieve our right first time targets, so it is important that you are able to undertake associated building, plastering, joinery and plumbing tasks as well.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised individual who has a "Can-do" attitude and puts our customers at the heart of service delivery whilst being aware of the need to provide a value for money service.

You will be part of a high performing team and will play a key role in ensuring servicing and repairs are completed efficiently and effectively. Productivity and performance improvements are one of our key objectives, so you will need to come from a background where performance targets lead service delivery objectives.

Qualifications

It is essential that you are / have:

  • ACS qualified with minimum CCN1, CEN1, CPA1, WAT1, HTR1 and CKR1
  • Gas Safe approved
  • Wide range of knowledge regarding the diagnosis of boiler and system defects.
  • Extensive experience of domestic gas servicing and maintenance / fault finding
  • Excellent customer care skills and an ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable people
  • A "can-do" attitude and are used to working to performance targets.
  • Full UK Driving License.

This post will be based at the main Council Offices in Beeston and a vehicle will be provided.
