Atomic Weapons Establishment at Coulport near Helensburgh invites applications for a Multi-Skilled Operative. You will support processing and handling operations, operate cranes and forklift tasks, and assist with storage, transport, and safety procedures in a high-security environment.

You will work Monday–Thursday, undergo mandatory training, and contribute to a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement while complying with all procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to ensure processing and handling operations are completed within programme restrictions.
• Undertake training to perform duties of other non-craft operators as required.
• Follow approved operating procedures, safety cases and legislative requirements.
• Comply with safety, environmental, fire, quality, security standards and highlight non-compliance.
• Maintain high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality.

Could this role be the opportunity for you to play your part?Key Accountabilities and ResponsibilitiesProvide support to ensure that all processing and handling operations are completed within programme restrictionsUndertake training to perform the duties of any other non-craft operators, appropriate to the grade, in relevant work areas required / directedWork within approved operating procedures, safety cases and legislative requirementsIdentify any areas of concern or serious shortcomings which affect operations to Line ManagerEnsure adherence to the regulations laid down in relevant company Procedural Guides, Work Instructions and Safe Systems of work relevant to the work areaComply with all safety, environmental, fire, quality, security standards, regulations and legislation and highlight non-compliance to Line ManagerMaintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health security and quality and be a great team playerAssist with processing and handling operations, within required work areas to meet the Depot outputsSupport crane duties, cleaning of equipment, packing and unpacking equipment and materialsProvide support for the safe storage and handling of productsSafely move or transport equipment and hazardous materialsObserve the movement of assets within the depot to ensure safety and operating procedures are followedSupport internal and external road movementsPerform the storage, handling and transportation of assets and equipment in support of production requirementsAssist the Building Officer / Manager to open & close buildings. To attend all periodic mandatory and on-the-job training, as directedIndividuals may be expected to undertake tasks in support of other teams and undertake other duties deemed to be within the job holder’s capabilityUndertake reader duties during operations, which involve controlling the process being undertaken and ensures no deviation from approved procedureTo perform crane and slinger tasks to support operations in all relevant work areasTo provide forklift / transfer support for operational requirements in all facilitiesUndertake the tasks as detailed on the Building Cleaning Plans as directedTo provide support for ordering and returning items to stores and updating computer software systems as requiredUpdating relevant databases and company storage systemsSome reasons we think you’ll love it here:AWE has wide range of benefits to suit you.
