Salary: Up to £58k

Contract type: Permanent

Shift pattern: Continental – Days & Nights

Responsibilities
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective fault diagnosis and repairs to minimise downtime
  • Deliver planned maintenance activities and recommend improvements to maximise asset performance
  • Support production teams by operating machinery when required to maintain output and efficiency
  • Ensure all engineering work is completed in line with health & safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintain accurate records including downtime logs, maintenance reports, and shift handovers
  • Use technical documentation and mechanical drawings to identify and source correct replacement parts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support engineering projects
Requirements
  • A recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC)
  • Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing or FMCG environment (5+ years preferable)
  • Strong fault‑finding skills and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving
  • Good understanding of maintenance systems and engineering best practices
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
  • Proactive attitude with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
