Responsibilities
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective fault diagnosis and repairs to minimise downtime
- Deliver planned maintenance activities and recommend improvements to maximise asset performance
- Support production teams by operating machinery when required to maintain output and efficiency
- Ensure all engineering work is completed in line with health & safety and hygiene standards
- Maintain accurate records including downtime logs, maintenance reports, and shift handovers
- Use technical documentation and mechanical drawings to identify and source correct replacement parts
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support engineering projects
Requirements
- A recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC)
- Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing or FMCG environment (5+ years preferable)
- Strong fault‑finding skills and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving
- Good understanding of maintenance systems and engineering best practices
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
- Proactive attitude with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
