Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer
Location: Brechin
Salary: Up to £45,500 per year + overtime at 1.5x
Hours: Days - Monday to Friday, 13:30 - 22:00
Contract: Full-time, permanent
The Opportunity
Our client, a well‑established food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their technical team. This role focuses on maintaining and improving Food/FMCG machinery, tooling, robotics, and associated plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fault‑finding, repairs, and planned maintenance on Food/FMCG machines, tooling, robotics, etc.
- Diagnose and repair electrical control systems including sensors, relays, contactors, safety circuits and inverter drives.
- Perform PLC diagnostics and minor programming adjustments (Siemens, Allen Bradley or equivalent).
- Support tooling maintenance, mould change‑overs, machine installations and commissioning.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and contribute to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to prioritise tasks and minimise downtime.
Skills & Experience
- Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Strong electrical competence with good mechanical knowledge (hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical fitting).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and machine manuals.
- Competence in PLC fault‑finding, sensors, drives and industrial control systems.
- Proactive problem‑solving skills and strong communication abilities.

- Salary up to £45,500 depending on experience.
