You'll be responsible for maintaining the reliability of plant equipment and undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance. Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Up to £53,000 + benefits

Shifts: 12-hour Days & Nights (Continental Shift Pattern)

The Role

Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant and equipment through effective fault finding, repair, and planned maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and site equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across a range of heavy industrial machinery.
  • Work confidently with 3-phase control systems and PLC fault finding, ideally with Siemens PLCs.
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Apprentice trained in electrical or multi-skilled engineering.
  • Qualified to HNC level (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical knowledge with solid PLC fault‑finding and diagnostic ability.
  • Self‑motivated, safety‑conscious, and a proactive team player.
