Venatu Recruitment are proud to announce that a Global Leading Client of ours within the Aerospace sector is looking to join them at their Birmingham site. The client is a well-established, global leader with turnover approaching a billion pounds annually and trading in 40 countries. They are a business involved in multiple sectors and have an opportunity to join their team in Birmingham. Due to the busy nature and continued growth they have consistently seen year on year, they are now looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electric Bias to join them!

Note: pay up to £50,000 per annum on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Main Duties

• Provide a high standard of multi-skilled engineering support whilst working safely either independently or as part of a team.
• Diagnose faults or points of failure, repair equipment to ensure safe operation, correct function, reliability and equipment availability.
• Engineer out equipment failures through continuous improvement.
• Plan, coordinate and execute installation and plant improvement projects, act on follow up repairs, source spares, complete and file documentation to audit standard.
• Communicate with suppliers and chase outstanding orders.
• Provide shift, factory start up/shutdown cover as required.
• Report equipment issues, follow up works and spares requirements to the Shift Plant Engineer and document in the shift report.

Candidate requirements

• BTec or equivalent in Engineering. ONC/OND or time served apprenticeship with hands-on experience would be acceptable.
• Experience of heavy motorised and hydraulic plant.
• Experience in rubber and plastics industry with experience of rolling mills / extrusion / moulding / press shop.
• Experience of steam, boiler house operation and high pressure fluid systems (Desirable, NOT essential).
• Mechanical and Electrical experience, ability to identify, safely isolate and work on equipment with multiple energy sources (electricity, steam, hydraulics, pneumatics, large motors 1000HP or greater).
• Experience with a CMMS system and reporting.
• Ability to weld (MIG, MMA) / fabrication skills.
