Job summary

Orion is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer for a fast-paced manufacturing site in the Midlands. You will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment, focusing on electrical and control systems to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement.

You will diagnose faults on PLC-controlled machinery, interpret schematics, and carry out mechanical work on bearings, belts, gears and conveyors. A strong commitment to safety and CMMS documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechatronics.
• Strong industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience with fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, controls, automation and mechanical faults.
• Fault find with PLCs, HMIs, meters and diagnostic tools.
• Maintain motors, drives, sensors, encoders and safety circuits.
• Support machinery upgrades, modifications and TPM initiatives.
• Conduct inspections, calibration checks and safety verifications.
• Assist site utilities and facilities maintenance (compressors, boilers, etc.).
• Contribute to RCA and corrective actions for recurring faults.
• Maintain CMMS records and participate in shift handovers.
