Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) responsible for carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance on production, plant, and process equipment at a leading food manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct planned and reactive electrical maintenance on production and plant equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain single- and three-phase systems.
  • Perform electrical testing, inspections, and PLC/process control troubleshooting.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and verify sensors, instrumentation, and control panels.
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance on conveyors, drives, mixers, milling, and packing machinery.
  • Replace bearings, chains, belts, and mechanical components.
  • Perform fault finding, root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure safe, efficient maintenance.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Time-served engineer with electrical bias (HNC/ONC or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition IEE Regulations qualification (essential).
  • PLC/process control experience.
  • Health & Safety certification (IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent).
  • Experience in food or FMCG manufacturing.
  • CMMS experience for planned maintenance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Skills:
  • Strong IT literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Experience with automated packaging, milling, and blending equipment.
  • Knowledge of process control instrumentation and compressors, motors, and drives.
