Job summary

Global Banking School is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the Estates & Facilities team in the UK. You will maintain, install and refurbish building fabric and equipment across campus sites, performing planned and reactive maintenance, with occasional out-of-hours work to minimise disruption.

The role requires 18th Edition, electrical installation qualifications or equivalent, strong M&E know-how, and a proactive, flexible attitude.

Qualifications

• 18th Edition wiring regulations certification.
• City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Electrical Installations or NVQ equivalent.
• Experience in building maintenance including M&E systems.
• Flexible, proactive approach and can-do attitude.
• COSHH familiarity for equipment and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
• General trades including plumbing, electrical fittings, carpentry, and decorating.
• Inspections (HVAC, lighting, fire interfaces), PAT, fire doors and Legionella checks.
• Support refurbishments, installations, and campus upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records, stock control and safe systems of work.
• Travel and flexibility as needed.

The Role:Join the Estates & Facilities team at Global Banking School (GBS) as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You’ll maintain, install, and refurbish building fabric and equipment across our UK campus portfolio, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient learning environments. This hands-on role combines planned and preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and support for refurbishment projects, with occasional out-of-hours work to minimise disruption.

Please note: This role requires a DBS and is not eligible for sponsorship.

What the Role Involves:

What you’ll bring

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
• City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard.
• Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems.
• Manual skills, knowledge of refurbishment techniques.
• A flexible and proactive approach to work with "can do" attitude.
• Familiarity with COSHH requirements for the equipment and chemicals being used.
• Interpersonal skill and ability to work on your own but at the same time part of the facilities wider team
• Full, Clean Driving License
