A well-established client in the Washington area is seeking a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join their team. This position involves providing electrical and mechanical maintenance, diagnosing and repairing various machinery, and performing planned preventative maintenance. Ideal candidates will have engineering experience, a clean driving license, and the ability to work flexibly. The role offers training in a safety-first environment with new equipment and exciting projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the woodworking industry or similar preferred.
  • Time-served Engineer.
  • 18th edition required.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • PLC fault finding experience is advantageous.
  • Flexible to provide cover out of hours if needed.
  • Full UK driving license required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns on machinery.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards.

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be exclusively partnering with our well established client in the Washington/Sunderland area who due to continued growth and investment are looking to add a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to their team.

This is a day shift position, with excellent training and development opportunites. A clean, safety first environment to work in and a fantastic team and company culture.

The business has invested substantially in new equipment so there will be a diversity of new projects to be a part of.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns on CNC routers, edgebanders, saws, drills, wood burners, woodchippers, and dust extraction systems.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
  • Keep accurate maintenance and service records.
Skills Required
  • Ideally you will have experience in the woodworking industry or similar
  • Time-served Engineer
  • 18th edition
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • PLC fault finding experience (advantageous but not essential).
  • Flexible to provide cover out of hours when needed.
  • Full UK driving license. This role will occasionally need to support other sites in Newcastle. (Company transport provided)
