Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Are you an experienced Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge in a fast‑paced, forward‑thinking manufacturing environment? Our client, a highly respected organisation within the manufacturing sector, is looking to expand their engineering team with a talented individual who is proactive, hands‑on, and passionate about delivering high‑quality maintenance support.

The Role:

As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective maintenance of a wide range of standard and bespoke machinery. You'll work across both planned and reactive maintenance, keeping production running smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults quickly and effectively.
  • Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
  • Coordinate with production teams to schedule and prioritise maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMM (Computerised Maintenance Management) system.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with HSE regulations and internal policies.
  • Conduct quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure ongoing reliability.
  • Provide emergency breakdown support when required.
  • Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, including joint maintenance work when required.
  • Offer coaching and mentoring to junior engineers or apprentices.
About You:

We're looking for a motivated and flexible engineer who takes pride in solving problems and improving processes.

You will have:
  • A relevant qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with HSE standards and safe working practices.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, welding, milling/turning would be an advantage.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • A proactive, solution‑focused mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Flexibility to support overtime or weekend work when required
