Job Summary

Venatu Recruitment are proud to announce that our Global Leading Client in Aircraft and Aerospace is looking for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join their Birmingham site. The client is a well‑established global leader with turnover approaching a billion pounds annually, trading in 40 countries, and is expanding rapidly.

Position Details

This role pays up to £50,000 per annum on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Main Duties
  • Provide a high standard of multi‑skilled engineering support whilst working safely either independently or as part of a team.
  • Diagnose faults or points of failure, repair equipment to ensure safe operation, correct function, reliability and equipment availability.
  • Engine out equipment failures through continuous improvement.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute installation and plant improvement projects, act on follow‑up repairs, source spares and complete and file documentation to audit standard.
  • Communicate with suppliers to chase outstanding orders.
  • Provide shift, factory start‑up/shutdown cover as and when required.
  • Report equipment issues, follow‑up works and spares requirements to the Shift Plant Engineer and include information in the shift report.
Candidate Profile
  • BTec or equivalent in Engineering. Will accept ONC / OND or time‑served apprentice with experienced hands‑on training.
  • Experience of heavy motorised and hydraulic plant.
  • Experience in the rubber and plastics industry, including rolling mills / extrusion / moulding / press shop.
  • Experience of steam generation, boiler house operation and high‑pressure fluid systems – desirable but not essential.
  • Mechanical and Electrical experience with ability to identify, safely isolate and work on equipment that has multiple sources of energy (electricity, steam, hydraulics, pneumatics, large motors of 1000HP or greater).
  • Experience with a CMMS system and reporting.
  • Ability to weld (MIG, MMA) / fabrication skills.
