Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Blackpool Area

Salary: £52,500

Shift Pattern: Panama Shift Pattern (5s and 4s)

The Role

A leading food manufacturing business in the Blackpool area is currently recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer due to significant recent investment and multiple multi-million-pound projects scheduled to commence in 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing operation during a period of growth and modernisation.

The successful Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical maintenance support within a fast-paced, highly automated food production environment, working on a Panama shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on food manufacturing machinery
• Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding across processing and packaging equipment
• Working with PLC‑controlled systems, motors, drives, sensors, and automation
• Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
• Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery as part of upcoming capital projects
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed in line with health, safety, and food hygiene standards
• Working effectively as part of a skilled engineering team on a Panama shift pattern

About the Candidate

• Previous experience working as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer within food or FMCG manufacturing
• Strong electrical fault‑finding skills with good mechanical knowledge
• Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
• Experience within high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environments
• A proactive approach to breakdown response, PPMs, and continuous improvement
