Job Title: Shift Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled)

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving production, packaging, and site facilities to ensure maximum equipment reliability and efficiency.

Job Summary

Working as part of the Engineering team, you will provide technical support across all production and packing areas, carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance. You'll play a key role in diagnosing faults, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to ongoing engineering projects to enhance site performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide range of production and packaging machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Work with PLC-controlled and inverter-driven equipment.
  • Identify and implement process and equipment improvements.
  • Source and select spare parts as required.
  • Support with electrical and mechanical installation work.
  • Provide engineering input for ongoing projects and process optimisations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logbooks.
  • Report regularly to the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager.

(This list is not exhaustive and duties may evolve as the role develops.)

Qualifications & Experience Required
  • Advanced apprenticeship in Mechatronics, Maintenance Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Level 3 Multiskilled qualification (industrial electrical/mechanical).
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing high-speed food, pharmaceutical, or similar process and packaging equipment.
Working Hours (Fixed Shift Pattern)

Rotating shifts which are the following:

  • Week 1 & 2 Monday-Thursday Days/Afternoons
  • Week 3 Sunday-Thurs Nights
