Job summary

Nicholas Associates is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) for our active food manufacturing site in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. The role offers a £60,000 annual salary based on a £52,000 basic with 22 days contracted overtime to cover holidays.

You will be responsible for reactive and preventative maintenance on production equipment, PLC fault finding, and SCADA-enabled systems, with CMMS oversight and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification or certification is essential.
• 12/24 V DC, 240 V, 415 V 3‑phase knowledge.
• Experience with SCADA environments is beneficial.
• Willing to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• HACCP experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive and breakdown maintenance on production equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance of production equipment.
• Maintain and use the CMMS to record and manage work orders.
• Perform PLC fault finding and basic electrical diagnostics.
• Support site services and facilities as needed.

The Site

Modern, highly automated food production facility

Apprentice trained is ideal but not essential

Food or FMCG experience is preferred but not essential

• An electrical engineering qualification or certification is essential
• Reactive and breakdown response to production equipment, site services and facilities
• Planned preventative maintenance of production equipment
• 12 and 24 Volt DC, 240 volt, 415 volt 3 phase
• Experience of working in a SCADA controlled environment beneficial
• Maintaining the CMMS
• Plc fault finding knowledge
• HACCP experience beneficial
• Must be happy working at heights (MEWPs), in confined areas and in varying temperatures
• Able to build HMI panels beneficial
• Able to do basic welding, fabrication, turning, milling beneficial
