Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical)

A long-established UK-based engineering firm, operating within several high-integrity industries, is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support production operations, ensure plant reliability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering business with a strong technical heritage and a commitment to modern working practices and innovation.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Conducting reactive and preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and production equipment.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Manufacturing simple replacement parts using lathes, mills, and welding equipment.
  • Assisting with machinery moves, installations, and modifications.
  • Working at height and operating Forklift Trucks and Mobile Elevated Platforms (training provided).
  • Supporting and supervising third-party contractors when required.
  • Reporting faults and maintenance issues to supervisors and logging activity through the in-house maintenance system.
  • Installing, inspecting, and repairing 110V, 240V, 415V three-phase electrical services.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental procedures.
What We're Looking For
  • Time-served engineer or equivalent qualification in mechanical fitting.
  • Formal qualification in IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering environment.
  • Solid understanding of machinery installation and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with conduit, armoured cable, tray and trunking installations.
  • Competence using a range of testing equipment and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Multi-skilled across mechanical and basic electrical disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of quality, health & safety, and housekeeping best practices.
  • Full UK driving licence.
