Job description

Employment Solutions are looking to recruit for a maintenance technician with elec bias

You will play a key role in delivering a safe, high-quality, and cost-effective maintenance service to site assets. For a large company based in the Leicester area LE4. You'll be responsible for all aspects of preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance across a range of electrical systems, ensuring operational efficiency.

In this hands-on role, you'll also support operational teams, technicians, and management by providing expert technical assistance and overseeing maintenance routines and contractor coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to SFG20 standards on: HVAC systems, UPS systems, RCDs and PAT testing, Lighting systems, LEV and fume cupboards, Boilers and air compressors
  • Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to reduce downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections and proactive maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new systems and equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities using a CMMS (tablet-based, training provided).
  • Manage critical spare parts and ensure effective inventory control.
  • Issue and manage Permits to Work for contractors, ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Support black building testing and respond to alarms via the Trend BMS.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and performance initiatives.
  • Deliver weekly reports in line with contractual KPIs.
Qualifications:
  • Preferable NVQ level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering with experience in a similar role.
  • Must have strong electrical fault-finding experience, WITH 18TH Edition qualifications.
  • Familiarity with technical manuals, schematics and drawings.
  • To be able to work independently or part of a team.
Benefits:

Excellent benefits with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension is an auto enrolment (Employer 3% / Employee 5%), death in service 2 x annual salary.

Job Type:

Perm position with a 3 months' probation, competitive salary of up to £40k per annum

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm
