Shifts: Monday-Friday (Days & Afternoons) + Occasional Saturdays

Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking food manufacturing business? Our client, a well-established and reputable company based in Nelson, is expanding their engineering team and seeking talented, driven individuals to support ongoing growth and operational excellence.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving plant equipment within a fast-paced food production environment. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring downtime is minimised and production targets are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and machinery upgrades.
  • Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently in line with site standards.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to maintain operational performance.
What We're Looking For
  • Apprentice-trained in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential).
  • Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG is highly desirable.
  • Candidates from other industries are welcome to apply if willing to train and develop.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work rotating days and afternoons, with flexibility for occasional Saturday work.
