Job description

We at Work Lyf Group are seeking a proactive and versatile Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineerto join our clients team in the Meir area. This hands‑on role involves maintaining and servicing a range of industrial machinery, including beam saws, edge banding machines, and other woodworking equipment. Youll play a key part in ensuring smooth operations, minimising downtime, and supporting production efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and emergency repairs on beam saws, edge banders, and related machinery
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective solutions
  • Support production teams with technical expertise and rapid response to breakdowns
  • Maintain accurate service records and comply with health and safety standards
  • Participate in an on‑call rota until 8:00 PM for urgent support needs
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve equipment reliability
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a multiskilled engineering role (mechanical/electrical)
  • Familiarity with woodworking machinery, especially beam saws and edge banders
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or apprenticeship preferred
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable)
  • Apprenticeship in engineering or manufacturing (preferred)
  • Valid UK driving licence (advantageous)
