About the Position

Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Craftsperson to join their team at the Northumbria Hospital site & Manufacturing and Innovation Hub. This full‑time position (37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday) involves maintaining critical building systems and equipment, with participation in an emergency on‑call rota.

NHFM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, established in 2012, providing specialist project management services for large and small capital developments, estates maintenance and a full range of facilities services for all of Northumbria Healthcare Trust’s sites.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain building engineering systems (PPMs), life‑critical services, and equipment.
  • Perform minor electrical and mechanical installation works as needed.
  • Handle day‑to‑day reactive works and attend emergency callouts.
  • Prioritize tasks and work unsupervised.
  • Provide multi‑skilled Mechanical & Electrical services across all wards and departments.
  • Organize and prioritize workload independently and unsupervised.
  • Demonstrate commitment, versatility, and flexibility while undertaking all tasks.
  • Model compassionate and inclusive leadership skills and mentor apprentices when required.
Requirements

The successful applicant will be an employee of the subsidiary and not Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
