Job summary

Reading Borough Council is seeking a skilled Multi Skilled Kitchen Fitter to deliver high-quality kitchen fitting and carpentry services across council-owned homes. The role is based at the Depot in Reading and operates Monday to Friday, on-site from 08:00 to 16:00, with a company vehicle and tools provided.

Applicants should hold a recognised Carpentry qualification (NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds) and have experience with kitchen installations and related trades.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen installations, repairs and maintenance in domestic properties.
• Hold NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or City & Guilds.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install and refurbish kitchens within residential properties.
• Carry out carpentry repairs and maintenance works.
• Undertake multi-trade tasks including plumbing, plaster patching, tiling and vinyl flooring.
• Identify and order materials via PDA.
• Maintain excellent customer service in occupied homes.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Provide out-of-hours support on a rota-based system.
