Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is assisting a global manufacturer in Oldham to recruit a Junior Maintenance Engineer for a multi-skilled pathway. The role offers a £35,000 to £40,000 salary on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern with initial days training and benefits including pension and life assurance.

You will develop reactive and proactive maintenance skills on a 24/7 site, aiming to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement while building a long-term career in maintenance engineering.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in a general engineering discipline (mechanical or electrical).
• Basic fault-finding ability with a willingness to develop further.
• Motivated to work in a team environment with strong training and development support.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and core engineering principles.
• A drive to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Electrical and mechanical PPM, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
• Working as part of a skilled engineering team.
• Reporting into the Maintenance Manager.
• Maintenance on fast-paced production lines in a high-volume environment.
• Supporting kaizen and continuous improvement projects.
• Assisting with machine installations.
• Extensive internal and external training and development opportunities.
• Adhering to Health & Safety procedures at all times.
