Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification/apprenticeship in both engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 17th Edition certification (18th Edition).
  • Strong understanding of Star Delta, PLC systems, and Safe Isolation processes.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.

Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Salary

£50,000 per annum

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday on a rotating 3‑week shift pattern

  • Week 1: 6am - 2pm
  • Week 2: 2pm - 10pm
  • Week 3: 10pm - 6am
  • Every third Saturday: 6am - 12pm
Role Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Multi‑Skilled Engineer with Mechanical Bias to join a busy production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of all plant and equipment, supporting the site's production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance on plant equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across production and intake systems.
  • Liaise closely with the mill team to address breakdowns or production interruptions promptly and effectively.
  • Accurately record all maintenance work to maintain legal compliance and uphold safety standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, safety, and productivity.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Support projects involving installation, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Escalate persistent or critical issues appropriately to minimise production disruption.
Key Skills
  • Recognised qualification/apprenticeship in both engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 17th Edition certification (18th Edition).
  • Strong understanding of Star Delta, PLC systems, and Safe Isolation processes.
  • Proven experience working within a production or process environment under strict safety and quality control procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement both short-term fixes and long-term engineering solutions.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive and methodical approach.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
